Just a reminder — we will be dedicating “Andrew’s Tree” at the grade school that he attended, St. Mary Magdalen (Sharpley Rd, Fairfax), tomorrow (Thursday) at 1:00pm.  It will be a short ceremony.  Please say a prayer that the rain holds off.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  I think tomorrow may be a particularly hard day.

I would like to thank the “B+ Team” at West Chester (PA) University who participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life last weekend.  They sported B+ tee shirts, had B+ cupcakes, and even had an Andrew Superhero lifesize cut-out!!!  J  We’ve got pictures.  We’ll post them as soon as we can.  Thank you very much to Danny Myers and the whole team.  It was very emotional for me to see you all generously giving of yourselves to help others and honor my son.  You are superheroes too!

Wait ‘til you hear this one!  A local bar & restaurant, C.R. Hooligan’s (managed by Angela Marini, aunt of one of Andrew’s best buddies) had a hamburger eating contest.  The grand prize was $500 to the charity of the winner’s choice.  Twenty three contestants entered and five of them selected the B+ Foundation!  Guess what?  The winner, Dan Rappa, was one of the five B+ supporters!  Thank you, Dan, and thank you, C.R. Hooligan’s, for your generous donation of $500.  What a fun way to help families in need!

Please say a prayer tonight for all the families in the hospitals.

Thank you and God bless you!

Live Like Andrew – don’t take yourself too seriously.

Well, after visiting the University of Delaware last Saturday and James Madison University earlier this week, Ali has made her decision. Ali is going to be a University of Delaware “Blue Hen”!!! For a lot of reasons, I think Ali has made a good choice (nothing against JMU). We are really proud of her. It’s hard to believe that our little girl is going off to college in the fall.

I know that I’m a day early, but in case I don’t post tomorrow, I want to wish all of our Jewish friends a Happy Passover. I hope you are all blessed with a full table of loved ones at your Passover Seder.

For people in the Delaware Valley, I want to make you aware of an upcoming gala that the American Lung Association is hosting. My friend, Kelli, is involved with the event and I’m sure it’s going to be first class. I watched my Dad struggle with asthma for over 30 years…I’m behind anything that the Lung Association can do to make inroads against respiratory illnesses. It will be held on May 9th at Longwood Gardens and more information can be found at:

Please keep Nicholas Santoro in your prayers. Nicholas is a young man from New Jersey who recently underwent a transplant and is battling valiantly. He needs your prayers right now.

Thank you.

There are SO many people who are in need of our prayers. So many little boys and girls who are fighting so bravely. So many Moms and Dads who are by the bedside trying to ‘fix’ everything with their child. And, so many brothers and sisters whose worlds have been turned upside down. I imagine that you don’t know how much you love your brothers and sisters until something bad happens. After you read this, please take a few minutes to pray for all the sick kids and their families and count the blessings that God has bestowed upon you.

God bless you all.

MAKE it a great weekend…it’s up to you.

Live Like Andrew – show affection.

B+

Proud to be,

Ali’s & Andrew’s Dad
